On Monday, fashion designer Oscar de la Renta passed away at his home Kent, Conn at the age of 82, after a long battle with cancer.
The fashion icon, rose to fame for being the designer of choice for Jacqueline Kennedy and subsequently dressed many First Ladies including #BettyFord, #NancyReagan, #HillaryClinton and #LauraBush.
He was also a favorite among numerous celebs, including #OprahWinfrey, #SarahJessicaParker, #Beyoncé and most recently designed #AmalAlamuddin’s gown for her wedding to #GeorgeClooney.
De la Renta, who was born in the Dominican Republic, was diagnosed with cancer in 2006. He is survived by his second wife Annette de la Renta. His first wife, former French Vogue editor Francois Langlade died in 1983.
After the sad new was announced, fans, friends and celebs took to Twitter to express their grief and condolences. May his soul rest in peace, amen.
