Pete Souza, who is the Chief White House photographer, shared a pic on Wednesday of President Obama wearing a tiara while posing with Girl Scouts from a Tulsa, Oklahoma troop.
The pic was actually taken at #TheWhiteHouse Science Fair in May but Souza said he found it yesterday while editing his images from 2014. According to ABC News, Obama initially refused to wear the custom-fit headdress saying:
“Here's the general rule: You don't put stuff on your head if you're president. That’s politics 101. You never look good wearing something on your head.”
But the kids eventually got him to wear it. The White House also shared a pic yesterday of Michelle Obama speaking on the phone (from Hawaii) to kids across the country as part of the annual "NORAD Tracks Santa" program, which allows kids to call to see where Santa is.
