Ryan Gosling and Eva Mendes, who welcomed their daughter Esmeralda three months ago, are on the verge of breaking up and have been living separate lives. OK! Magazine reports that Eva has been struggling with taking care of the baby at their LA home while Ryan has been filming The Nice Guys for extended periods in Georgia. A source told mag:
“It's more than just run-of-the-mill stress that comes with having a newborn. They're barely talking. Eva has pushed him away.”
The source also said that Eva refused to fly to Atlanta with their daughter to spend time with Ryan.
“So instead of coming home every night to them, he's jetting back and forth just so he can see his daughter. The last time Ryan was in LA, he told her that she and Esmeralda needed to get outside for some fresh air, but she just wouldn't listen,” the source added.
The source added that if the couple split, Eva will fight for full custody.
“Eva has been the primary, hands-on parent with Ryan away working so much, so she believes full custody is warranted,” the source said.
Eva previously talked about how tired she gets while taking care of the baby. In her first post-pregnancy interview with Violet Grey magazine she said she was “exhausted” and explained why she doesn’t want a nanny, saying:
“Esmeralda has two amazing grandmothers and incredible aunties who come over and help me.”
Eva and Ryan, who began dating in 2011, kept a very low profile while Eva was pregnant and haven't been pictured out together in public for over a year.
