ABC News released a new surveillance video on Friday, which
shows Ray Rice and his then fiancée Janay Palmer kissing while handcuffed in the same
elevator, where he viciously attacked her earlier that night in Atlantic City on
February 15.
Janay was crying as she sat with Ray at separate
tables in the Revel Hotel and Casino until cops escorted them into
the elevator. According to ABC, Ray went to a court to prevent them from publishing the video but failed. Yesterday, his lawyer Peter Ginsberg voiced his dismay that the video was made public. He said:
"This is a time of healing and he, quite naturally, doesn't want another media showing of what must have been the worst event of his life. What the media ought to be focusing on is the issue of domestic violence."
On Thursday, Ray, who knew that the video would be released,
talked about the elevator incident during an appearance at a charity event in
Baltimore.
"I made a horrible mistake in my life, but if you truly believe in second chances, they will forgive me. I think all the fans have looked deep into who I am," he said
