Bobbi Kristina Brown and Nick Gordon are not married, according to her father Bobby Brown. In a statement on Tuesday, Bobby’s attorney said: “Bobbi Kristina is not and has never been married to Nick Gordon.”
The revelation comes in the wake of speculation that Gordon could inherit all of the late Whitney Houston’s estate that was left to Bobbi Kristina after her death in 2012.
The couple announced their engagement in 2013 and it was immediate followed by a massive backlash as most people believed they were brother and sister because Houston took Gordon in as a child and raised him as part of the family. But Bobbi Kristina hit back, saying:
“Let me clear up something, we aren’t even real brother and sister nor is he my adoptive brother. My mom never adopted him. In fact, mommy was the one who even said that she knew that we were going to start dating. My mom knows me better than any of you.”
In 2014, the couple tied the knot and even shared a pic of their wedding rings, though she said they hadn’t had an actual wedding ceremony.
Yesterday, Bobbi Kristina was moved from North Fulton Hospital in Roswell, Georgia, to Emory University Hospital in Atlanta for further neurological treatment, and, according to TMZ, the two sides of the family are fighting over visitation.
