Warren Sapp was arrested for assault and soliciting two prostitutes in Arizona on Monday. The 42-year-old former NFL player, who was in town to cover the Super Bowl for NFL Network, was taken into custody in Phoenix after an altercation with two women, who suffered minor injuries.

According to police, Warren hired the two prostitutes and took them to his hotel room, where an argument erupted over money. Things escalated into a physical altercation, and the women were injured. Cops were called to the scene, he was questioned and admitted involvement in the act of prostitution, but denied assaulting the females, according to TMZ.

The two prostitutes were given citations and released but Warren was booked on solicitation and assault charges. After initially being suspended indefinitely from NFL Network pending the results of the police investigation, spokesman for the NFL Network, Alex Riethmiller said: “Warren Sapp’s contract has been terminated and he no longer works for NFL Network.”

Warren starred on defense for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Oakland Raiders from 1995 to 2007. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013. He is divorced from wife Jamiko Vaughn, with whom he has two daughters. He was arrested in 2010 and charged with domestic battery while covering that year’s Super Bowl in Miami but the charges were later dropped. He was charged with domestic violence again in 2014.
