Conchita Wurst has achieved world wide fame since winning Eurovision 2014 singing Rise Like a Pheonix. The Austrian Conchita Wurst, whose real name is Tom Neuwirth, gave a dazzling performance at G.A.Y in London on Saturday night and was even introduced to the stage by new showbiz pal Graham Norton.
Conchita performed at the club, which has also welcomed the likes of Kylie Minogue and Miley Cyrus to the stage, giving an energetic performance before leaving the stage with a bouquet of flowers.
The singer is clearly loving being in the UK as she tweeted on Saturday: 'waking in London feels so good! It's like my 2nd home already good Morning to #theunstoppables'. Earlier in the evening Conchita's interview with chat show host Graham Norton was aired, who also showed his support for the singer by attending the nightclub to watch her perform.
She revealed in the interview that Elton John and his partner Dave Furnish sent her a bouquet to congratulate her on her win, and even a Tweet from superstar Cher: 'I was so excited to receive the tweet, which said, 'darling you deserve a lovelier name and better wig'. Cher, THE Cher, tweeted me,’’ she revealed.
The 25-year-old singer also spoke out about her plans for the future: ‘Our society is so fast so I'm going to sit back and choose wisely. I will have to make new stuff. My goal is a Grammy so my songs will have to be good,’ she said. ‘I have cast myself in the role of host at Eurovision next year in Vienna.’ And she said she was still to mark the contest win properly as she continues to rest, almost a week after the final, adding: ‘I slept. I haven't celebrated yet.’
