Katy Perry launched a new philanthropic project at the Nokia theater in downtown Los Angeles on Thursday. The project Make Roar Happen, with office supply chain Staples, will raise funds to provide materials to teachers and students.
As part of the project, fans will be invited to enter a contest to attend a concert and even meet the recording artist by making a purchase of $10 or more at any Staples.
'I’m glad to partner with Staples on my Prismatic World Tour to raise awareness and funds for DonorsChoose.org, and to remind my fans that a small gesture can make a large impact on the very basic materials classrooms need for teachers to help students reach their full potential', Perry said.
In return, Staples will sponsor the North American portion of Katy's Prismatic World Tour which will resume in Raleigh, North Carolina on June 22 and end October 8 in New Orleans, Louisiana.
