Lara Stone: "I Was Fired From Modelling Job For Being Pregnant"

Women worry about what will happen to their career when they get pregnant and afterwards. Well, models are no different.

Model, Lara Stone, reveals how she was fired from a modelling job when she was just three months pregnant because the client thought she was too fat.

In an interview with London Evening Standard, Miss Stone described the moment she arrived for a modelling shoot and was told she was no longer needed. ‘I was really upset at the time. I hadn't yet had my three-month scan and I felt really vulnerable about everything.

The model, who has exclusive contracts with Calvin Klein and L’Oreal Paris added, 'I no longer had a job. That was it – I had to just stop everything that I knew, the way my life was.’

Even after giving birth and shedding her baby weight, she has continued to face discrimination. 'I've had a few meetings because when they hear pregnancy they freak out a bit, so they need to see if I fit in their clothes,'
