Kanye West was booed by fans on Friday night after an epic twenty minutes rant, right in the middle of his Wireless performance.
The star halted his performance to yap about discrimination within the fashion industry and his obsession with his wife, #KimKardashian.
Kanye, 37, told the audience:
"People be looking at me like I got a problem or something. Like I’m uncontrollable, that I do what I’m not supposed to do.’ Turning his attention to the media, Kanye said ‘They control everyone with rumours & lies. They steal you from you & sell you back to you.”
“‘How many people here think they’re awesome and have had people say they’re not their whole lives? What have I ever done other than believe in myself?’
“They say they won’t negotiate with celebrities…like I’m a terrorist or stupid. I’m not going to name names, I’m not going to mention any names but... Nike, Louis Vuitton and Gucci. Don't discriminate against me 'cos I'm a black man making music.”
“‘I told Kim seven years ago: ‘I’m going to marry you,’ and I did – all the stuff I talk about, I can back it up. F**k saving face and what it's supposed to mean, it's about living my dream.”
“I just wanted to make something awesome and be awesome and change the world, and that's exactly what I plan to do.”
As you can imagine, fans were not amused and hundreds reportedly left the gig early. People were there to have a fun night not to listen to him moan.
Later that night, Twitter was ablaze with comments from fans who were pissed off at the superstar. Here are some of the comments from fans:
One wrote: 'Serious booing during Kanye's obligatory 15 minute Runaway rant at Wireless. Just get the f**k on with it mate. (sic)'
Another added: 'There is a time and a place to get on your soap box @kanyewest and #wireless is not the place.'
And another said: 'Kanye West getting boos at wireless, for ranting on stage instead of rapping.'
The rapper, who was the headline act at the show on Friday, will also headline the show on Saturday after Drake was forced to cancel due to illness.
