NFL wide receiver, Justin Blackmon was arrested and charged with possession of weed in Edmond on Wednesday. Blackmon has battled alcohol issues in the past and he’s currently suspended indefinitely from the NFL for violating the league's substance abuse policy.
According to Jenny Monroe, with the Edmond Police Department, Blackmon was pulled over for a traffic violation at Kelley and Edmond Rd. after trying to swerve to miss other cars and when he was pulled over for the traffic violation, he couldn’t produce any identification.
The officer smelled weed on Blackmon so he was handcuffed and his car was searched. The weed was found in the car, one smoked and the other was fresh and hidden in a Swisher Sweet box.
Blackmon was then arrested and charged with possession of weed and "improper passing on the left." After being jailed briefly, he posted bond and will appear in court later on the misdemeanor charge.
Blackmon has been in trouble with the law before. In 2010, he was arrested for DUI which damaged his reputation before his NFL career even kicked off.
