#CliffRichard 's Home Searched By Police In Alleged Sexual Assault Case

Early today, cops searched Cliff Richard’s home in Berkshire and removed some items from the property for further investigation in relation to alleged sexual abuse of a minor in the ‘80s.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said:

“Police have gained entry to a property in the Sunningdale area of Berkshire. Officers are currently searching the property. A search warrant was granted after police received an allegation of a sexual nature dating back to the 1980s involving a boy who was under the age of 16 at the time. No one has been arrested and the owner of the property was not present.”

The BBC reports that the 73-year-old entertainer is currently in Portugal and his publicist, Lisa Davies said she was not aware of the allegations. The search is not connected to Scotland Yard's Operation Yewtree which was launched in the wake of the Jimmy Savile scandal.
