Rob was devastated when his father, Robert Kardashian died back in 2003 so when Khloe Kardashian married Lamar Odom, he became a father figure to Rob, inspiring him to start a business and getting fit. Rob and Lamar got really close and Rob idolized him.
Sources close to the family told TMZ that after Khloe and Lamar’s marriage broke down, Lamar cut off the entire family which made Rob turn to drugs because he felt abandoned by the only person he looked up. Eventually, Rob just didn't care about himself anymore and got deeper into drugs which resulted in the weight gain.
