Miley Cyrus thrilled the audience at the MTV Video Music Awards last night when she let a young homeless man accept the award for Video Of The Year on her behalf. She totally stole the show and touched millions of hearts.
She hugged Jesse after she was announced as the winner and they got on stage where Jesse accepted the award from Jimmy Fallon on her behalf. Miley wept as Jesses gave a speech saying:
“My name is Jesse,' the 22-year-old said. "I am accepting this award on behalf of the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving and lost and scared for their lives. I know, because I am one of those people."
"All over this city I’ve cleaned your hotel rooms. I’ve been an extra in your movies. I’ve been an extra in life,” Jesse said. “Though I may have been invisible to you on the streets, I have a lot of the same dreams that brought you here tonight.”
“Los Angeles, entertainment capitol, has the largest percentage of homeless youth in America. The music industry will make over $7 billion this year and outside these doors are 54,000 who have no place to call home. If you want to make a powerful change in the world right now, please join us by going to Miley‘s Facebook page. A dream you dream alone is only a dream, but a dream you dream together is reality.”
After the show, Miley and her hot homeless date Jesse went to In-N-Out Burger to celebrate.
