G.R.L. group singer and former X Factor contestant, Simone Battle was found dead in her Los Angeles home on Friday morning. She was only 25-years-old.
Simone was a finalist in the the US version of “The X Factor” in 2011. After being part of a proposed Pussycat Dolls reboot in 2012, the singer joined the new group G.R.L., which released its debut album earlier this year.
On Saturday, Reign Deer Entertainment, Kemosabe Records, RCA Records and Pussycat Dolls founder, Robin Antin released a joint statement confirming Simone’s death. It reads:
“We are deeply saddened by the tragic loss of Simone Battle of G.R.L. Simone was an exceptional young talent and human being, and we are all devastated to learn of her passing. Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and loved ones at this time.”
The cause of death is still being investigated but law enforcement sources told TMZ that it appears to be suicide because she was found hanging on a rod in the closet of her bedroom. May her soul rest in peace.
