Halle Berry says that her former boyfriend Gabriel Aubry is living off her child support payments and wants a judge to slash the amount by 80 percent.
According to TMZ, the actress has filed a petition asking the judge in their custody case to reduce the monthly support from $16,000 a month to just over $3,000 a month.
She argues that Aubry, with whom she shares equal joint custody of their daughter Nahla, has stopped working and lives off the child support when he is perfectly capable of getting a job. Halle notes that reduced payments will still allow Nahla to live a comfortable life, supplemented by Aubry’s income.
Berry and Aubry started dating in 2005 and broke up in 2010. At the time, the split sparked a custody battle between them after she expressed her desire to bring Nahla to France to live with her now-hubby #OlivierMartinez.
During a hearing in June this year, the former couple settled their custody dispute and she was ordered to pay Aubry $16,000 per month until their daughter turns 19 years old or she graduates from high school. A judge in Los Angeles also awarded him $115,000 in back payments and $300,000 in lawyer's fees.
