“Real Housewives of New Jersey” stars Teresa Giudice and her hubby Joe Giudice were sentenced to jail on Thursday at a Newark, NJ courthouse. The couple pleaded guilty to bankruptcy fraud, conspiracy to commit mail fraud and wire fraud, and failing to pay taxes between 2004-2008. Joe will serve 41 months in prison and pay restitution to the tune of $414,588 while Teresa will serve 15 months in jail.
Teresa broke down in tears before her sentencing saying:
“I am more sorry than anyone will ever know,” adding to the judge, “I will make this right. I need to send a message. In the eyes of the law it doesn't matter who you are. There are consequences to pay”
Teresa will report to prison on January 5, while Joe will report to prison after his wife serves her sentence so one of them can be with their four children while the other is away.
