Angelina Jolie’s wedding gift to Brad Pitt is a $250,000 typewriter once owned by author Ernest Hemingway, who committed suicide in 1961, aged 61.
She brought the 1926 Underwood from Los Angeles Police Commission President Steve Soboroff, who collects typewriters. Hemingway used the typewriter for his works in the late 1930s, and his book "For Whom the Bell Tolls" was published in 1940.
The actress initially wanted to buy a typewriter owned by playwright #TennesseeWilliams, but Soboroff wouldn't sell. However, when her agent offered a quarter of a million dollars for one of his two Hemingway machines, he agreed to sell.
