#EmmaWatson Dedicates Her BAFTA Britannia Award To Dead Hamster

BFRT10

Yes, she really did. Emma Watson was named British Artist of the Year at the Britannia Awards, hosted by BAFTA in Los Angeles on Thursday and she dedicated the award to her dead hamster during her acceptance speech.

She said the British film industry had been "the place I grew up" and "a surrogate family, really" before adding:

"On the first 'Harry Potter' film, my on-set hamster Millie had a heart attack and didn't quite make it. So the set decorators built a small mahogany hamster-sized coffin. It had a velvet lining and a silver plaque on the front, which had Millie's name engraved on it. What I'm trying to say is you're all very special to me and your vote of confidence means a lot... Rest in peace, Millie-this one's for you."
