Judge Denies #AmandaBynes' Attempt To End Conservatorship

BFRT1121

On Friday, a judge in Ventura County, California ruled that Amanda Bynes will remain under conservatorship until at least February 2015.

The troubled star didn't show up in court but her lawyer named Art Santiago, appeared on her behalf to end the conservatorship granted to her parents earlier this month. However, the judge said that Art could not represent Amanda because he's "not her court-appointed attorney, thus striking out her bid for legal and financial freedom."

Art claimed he had been in contact with her for the past two weeks and he "convinced her to voluntarily take her medication" and had been "following her progress." He added, "I've been dealing with her for the past two weeks and believe I'm the only one she can trust."

The hearing ended even before it began, and the conservatorship stays in place. Meanwhile, Amanda was spotted having lunch at a Mel's drive-in while her parents Rick and Lynn were in court for the hearing.
