Bill Cosby broke his silence to make a statement on the media coverage of the sexual assault allegations against him. In a phone conversation from his Massachusetts home, Cosby told Page Six:
“Let me say this. I only expect the black media to uphold the standards of excellence in journalism and when you do that you have to go in with a neutral mind.”
Cosby also told the reporter that his wife, Camille, remained strong amid the accusations.
“Love and the strength of womanhood. Let me say it again, love and the strength of womanhood. And, you could reverse it, the strength of womanhood and love," he said before adding: "they don't want me talking to the media."
So far, more than 20 women have accused the comedian of drugging and sexually assaulting them, including former model #BeverlyJohnson. One woman has filed a defamation lawsuit against him for publicly calling her a liar over the issue.
