#JoaquinPhoenix Is Not Engaged, He Made Up The Story: "I Wanted The Audience To Like Me"

Hours after telling late-night host #DavidLetterman on Monday, that he’s engaged to his yoga instructor (watch it here), Joaquin Phoenix stopped by “Good Morning America” earlier today, where confessed that he made up the story to make himself seem more interesting

"I think my life's so boring, and it seemed like something exciting to talk about, and I wanted the audience to like me," he said on the show. "They really like people getting married. I can get engaged again, if you like."

Joaquin also appeared on Live! with Kelly & Michael, where he explained his “prank” further saying:

“I did not play a prank on him — he knew that I was joking around. Did I say that? I was in bed too, I was getting ready for this show. I have no idea what I said.”
