Keshia Knight Pulliam, who played Rudy Huxtable on #TheCosbyShow, became the first contestant to be fired from Celebrity Apprentice because she refused to ask alleged abuser Bill Cosby for help.
During the show, which aired on Sunday but was recorded a year before Cosby's recent sex abuse scandal, Donald Trump blamed Pulliam for her team's lack of success during a charity task. Pulliam, who was project manager for the task, tried to raise money for her own charity, Kamp Kizzy, by selling pies with her all-female team, which included #KateGosselin, #VivicaAFox, #ShawnJohnson, #BradiGlanville, #KenyaMoore and #LeezaGibbons.
However, she refused to get in touch with Cosby despite saying he taught her "the importance of philanthropy and giving back to others.” When criticized for not reaching out to the comedian, Pulliam explained in the boardroom saying:
“I have not talked to Bill Cosby on the phone in I don’t know how long. For me to pick up the phone having not talked to you for five years, except for when we run into each other for a Cosby event, I feel that’s not my place to do.”
Trump then said:
"You are an amazing person, but you were the project manager. You didn’t make one call that I really believe that if you’d called that gentleman he would have helped you, even if you hadn’t spoken to him in years. You were an amazing team with one of the most successful shows ever, so I think it would have been a good call to make for charity. You have to take responsibility."
After the episode aired yesterday, Trump tweeted:
