Newlyweds George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin have reportedly ditched the Seychelles for a honeymoon in a £5million mansion in Oxfordshire, England, which George bought for Amal as wedding gift.
According to a new report, the couple has barely left the luxury mansion since arriving last week.
A source told The Sun:
“It was Amal who first set eyes on the place. It’s her dream location. She was torn between Oxfordshire and Kent but ultimately chose Oxfordshire because she felt most at home there. She first fell in love with it during her days there at university.”
"They want it to be the place where they bring up a family. They have talked about having kids. The fact they have barely left the house so far other than to walk the dogs implies they're keen to get cracking."
On Friday, George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin revealed their wedding certificate and new pics from their star-studded wedding via a new cover story in Vanity Fair Italy‘s latest issue.
George and Amal’s wedding pics were first featured in PEOPLE and Hello! magazines and the couple will donate all the money from the sale of the pics to charity, with the bulk of the proceeds going to the Satellite Sentinel Project. A source told TMZ:
“Every photo in both magazines will be saving a life.”
Meanwhile, the newlyweds are reportedly honeymooning on an island in the Seychelles, where #PrinceWilliam and #KateMiddleton enjoyed theirs'. The luxurious island is so private that it can only be accessed by helicopter. A source told X17Online:
“George and Amal were looking for the ultimate, private getaway and I believe it was Brad who told him to go to this resort. “It’s the most important dress in the life of a woman. Any girl from any walk of life dreams of that special dress, and I try to make that dream a reality for her. Amal and I looked at a lot of evening dresses and wedding dresses together, and we discussed what she liked. That gave me the idea of what she wanted.”
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin got hitched in front of family and a host of celebrity pals in Venice, Italy on Saturday and now the first pics from the wedding have been revealed.
Amal wore custom-made off-the-shoulder Oscar de la Renta French lace wedding dress and a veil while George wore a tuxedo by his favorite designer, Georgia Armani.
“[Giorgio is] the class act of all class acts,” George said “He’s been a good friend for many years and the night wouldn’t be complete without him. We met in Italy. We have a home there. We knew that was where we wanted to get married.”
Amal added about her dress, “He’s such an elegant designer and such an elegant man.”
HELLO! and PEOPLE magazines revealed details about the wedding including the outfits, the cake and the famous guests. People reports that the couple had approximately 100 guests at the wedding and they applauded spontaneously when the couple were declared man and wife during the 30 minute ceremony.
Nora Sagal, the daughter of friends, sang Irving Berlin's “Always”, which was the same song George's parents Nick and Nina danced to at their wedding. For their first dance as man and wife, the couple chose Cole Porter's “Why Shouldn't I?”
Both sets of parents are thrilled by the union and Amal's mother Baria Alamuddin told PEOPLE about the special day. “George and Amal radiated love all night,” she gushed while George's father Nick Clooney said: “George and Amal present us with ... belief that in this place and at this moment, love is alive and well.”
PEOPLE also reports that guests were gifted with iPods which held playlists chosen by the couple.
George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin are now legally married after finalizing their union with a 10-minute, €600 civil ceremony in Venice, Italy on Monday.
Amal wore, a cream pantsuit and a matching hat while George wore a two-piece grey suit. When they arrived, a local politician escorted them inside the building to sign the marriage papers and they were all smiles when they emerged 10 minutes later.
The newlyweds held hands and kissed, before getting into a boat, which then travelled up the canal slowly with police boats leading the way. The couple got married in a separate private ceremony on Saturday.

According to reports, US Vogue has secured the rights to the wedding and the couple will be donating the fee they receive to a charity of their choice. Guests were not allowed to take their mobile phones to the wedding in a bid to prevent unauthorized pictures being leaked.
Instead, guests were given specially made camera and code which routed all images taken to a database that George's people could access. If any photos were then leaked to the media, George would immediately be able to track down the culprit.
