The homeless man who threatened to kill Michael Strahan earlier this month, went on a mad rant in Manhattan Supreme Court on Monday. Andre Johnson called the judge the n-word, accused his lawyer of belonging to the Illuminati and repeatedly demanded a new lawyer.
Johnson was arrested on July 1st after showing up outside ABC studio where Strahan co-hosts the morning talk show “Live with Kelly and Michael” and pulled a serrated kitchen knife on a security guard.
According to the NY Post, when the judge ordered a mental evaluation for Johnson, he replied "That's some bullsh*t n****r!"
He was charged with three counts of attempted assault and is due back in Manhattan Supreme Court on Sept. 15.
A knife-wielding homeless man stormed ABC's Times Square studio threatening to kill 'Good Morning America' co-host Michael Strahan yesterday. Andre Johnson, 25, also tried to stab a security guard with a serrated knife near the show's New York City set about 8am, before being tackled by a police officer.
Strahan, a former New York Giants defensive end, joined the GMA team part-time in April and also co-hosts 'Live! with Kelly and Michael' with #KellyRipa.
New York Daily News reported that security staff told Johnson to leave when he first demanded to see Strahan but he returned later with a knife. When he threatened security workers, a police officer working in the network's security detail knocked the knife from Johnson's hand. Johnson was swiftly arrested and taken to the Midtown South police station.
Johnson was charged with attempted assault as a felony, menacing and criminal possession of a weapon.
