Paula Patton has filed for divorce from Robin Thicke after almost nine years of marriage.

According to TMZ, in the court docs filed in Los Angeles, Paula cites irreconcilable differences and wants joint legal and physical custody of their four-year-old son Julian.

After their split in February, Robin made multiple public pleas to win Paula back and even named his new album after her. There were rumors that infidelity was involved but Robin recently admitted that she left him after he confessed to secretly abusing drugs and alcohol.

However, the divorce is said to be “harmonious” and amicable. Robin and Paula met when they were 16-years-old and got married in 2005.

Robin Thicke’s estrange wife Paula Patton stepped back into the limelight for the first time since their split six months ago. The actress showed up at HBO's #TheEmmys after-party held at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on Monday night.

She looked happy and in good spirits as she chatted with fellow celebs at the event. The couple, who separated in February after nine years of marriage, have a son together.

Robin pleaded with Paula to take him back on several occasions after their split and even named his latest album after her but despite all that, they are still separated.

In February, Paula Patton and Robin Thicke called time on their marriage after more than 20 years together and since then, Robin has relentlessly tried to get her back, going as far as naming his latest album after her. But it looks like reconciliation is not on the cards for the couple as their Los Angeles mansion is now on the market for $3m.

Robin Thicke, 37, and Paula Patton, 38, announced their split after eight years of marriage in February and since then Thicke has relentlessly tried to get Paula back. However, he’s efforts seems to angered some people.

On Monday afternoon, VH1 tweeted to fans:

Robin Thicke’s campaign to win back his estranged wife, Paula Patton, continued with his performance at the 2014 BET Awards on Sunday (June 29) night.

The heartbroken 37-year-old singer, who split from wife Patton, 38, in February after 9 years of marriage, looked visibly moved and paused the song to wipe his nose after a snivel.

"Forever Love," a song from his new album Paula, left fans and probably Paula, in no doubt as to his feelings.
