Sixteen-months after filing for divorce from husband Jason Hoppy, Bethenny Frankel will finally face-off with the businessman for custody of their daughter Bryn in front of a judge in New York on May 28.
Bethanny, 43, and Jason, 42, were in a Manhattan family courtroom on Thursday when the trial date was set. The former Real Housewives Of New York City star is not going to give up custody of their four-year-old without a fight. A source told Radar that the Skinnygirl entrepreneur is 'taking the stand first thing Wednesday morning' to make her case.
Unusually, attorneys for the couple did not file documents to keep the courtroom sealed meaning the press will be allowed to observe the proceedings.
Jason had reportedly been hoping to come to an out-of-court deal with his estranged wife, who sold her Skinnygirl alcohol brand to Beam Global for anestimated $39 million with a similar amount promised if the brand hit certain sales targets.
In June 2010, the celebrity starred in the Bravo reality TV show Bethenny Getting Married, which documented her engagement to Jason, their marriage on March 28, 2010, and the birth of their daughter two months later.
The brunette, whose show Bethenny was cancelled by Fox after just one season, is finding solace in the arms of her new beau, Michael Cerrusi. She has been dating the beefy 34-year-old son of a prominent New York attorney since the beginning of the year.
