Crazy diet alert! NICOLE Richie’s marriage on the rocks??

It was recently reported that the reality star turned designer has dropped down to 88 pounds, which was her weight in 2006 when she memorably showed off a bony frame as she jogged on a beach in a bikini. The 32-year-old apparently refuses to eat anything but the organic fruits and vegetables from her own home garden and eggs from her backyard chickens. Nicole’s obsession with watching what she eats is driving her hubby, Joel Madden, crazy, according to American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“Joel likes to treat their kids to a burger or an ice cream cone once a week, but Nicole won’t allow it anymore,” revealed a source. “She even brings her self-harvested produce and hard-boiled eggs from her hens to restaurants and insists that chefs make her meals with them.”

'Joel has always tried to keep tight tabs on her diet,' the source added. 'But since he's gone so often, no one is ever really sure how much she's eating anymore. 'He is extremely worried about her. He tells her that she needs to focus on her health for the sake of the children, because they need their mother. 'When Joel confronts her on how she needs to ingest more nutrients, she says the juices give her all she needs.'

Nicole, who is mom to daughter Harlow, 6, and son Sparrow, 4, insists that eating by her rules is the only way to ensure that her family isn’t being exposed to dangerous pesticides or genetically modified foods. She currently grows apples, blueberries, lemons, strawberries, butter lettuce, arugula, snap peas, tomatoes, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, spinach, mint, thyme, oregano and sage at the family’s California home.

Nicole first seemed thinner than usual in June when a gold dress hung off her thin frame at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York City. In late October when she stepped out in a black dress with a plunging neckline to the Who What Wear 50 Style Stars event in West Hollywood, her chest appeared bony and her arms were very slender. In mid November she displayed some very protruding shoulders bones while at Balthazar and Rosetta Getty's home in Los Angeles. In late November the Simple Life beauty raised eyebrows when she wore a white cut-out dress to the American Music Awards. Her waist line looked tiny and her jaw line was extremely defined. When she walked onstage, her hip bones even stuck out.
