The Duchess of Cambridge is at the centre of a new privacy row today after a German tabloid published a picture of her bottom. Bild.de used a photograph taken as her dress blew upwards after she walked off a helicopter with her husband William in Australia last month. The picture was used alongside images showing other 'notorious' bottoms belonging to sisters Kim and Khloe Kardashian, the German newspaper said. Bild's decision is likely to have infuriated the Cambridges, but Clarence House refused to comment today.
Describing what happened Bild said: ‘Photos show our favourite Duchess Kate, 32, in the Australian Blue Mountains. The rotor blades of the royal helicopter swirl the air so that Kate's summer dress blew up – giving a clear view of her beautiful bum!’ The pictures were offered to the British press - who refused them - so the photographer sold them to the 'highest bidder' around the world, according to the Daily Star.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are no strangers to privacy battles, after a series of pictures taken of Kate while pregnant, and topless, were printed outside Britain and caused outrage. In February last year Italian and Australian magazines published photographs of pregnant Kate in a bikini. Palace sources condemned the ‘violating’ pictures, which showed the couple walking along a beach while holidaying on the secluded Caribbean island of Mustique.
