Oscar Pistorius' elder brother, Carl Pistorius is in critical condition at a Pretoria hospital after being badly hurt in a head-on car collision on Aug. 1. Carl was on his way home from a business trip late Friday when a vehicle travelling in the opposite direction swerved out in front of him.
He suffered a broken right arm, leg, left foot and several lacerations to his liver and heart but the family has been told by doctors that he is out of danger. In a statement, Arnold Pistorius, an uncle, said a colleague travelling in a different vehicle saw the crash which took place near Modimolle in Limpopo province.
Last year, Carl Pistorius was acquitted on charges related to a 2008 collision with a female motorcyclist who died a few days later.
