Kate Hudson and Olivia Wilde stole the spotlight at the IWMF Courage In Journalism Awards held at The Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California on Tuesday.
Olivia Wilde, who gave birth in April, celebrates motherhood by breastfeeding her son Otis as part of a striking photo shoot in the September issue of Glamour magazine.
“Being shot with Otis is so perfect because any portrait of me right now isn’t complete without my identity as a mother being a part of that,” she tells the magazine. Breast-feeding is the most natural thing. I don’t know, now it feels like Otis should always be on my breast.
Olivia says the intimate picture shows her as a “multifaceted woman.” She explains:
“You can be someone who is at once maternal and professional and sexy and self-possessed [But] I mean, I certainly don’t really look like that when I’m [typically] breast-feeding. And there’s usually a diaper involved.”
Olivia also says she was never worried about the difficulties of being a working mother.
“My mom is such a badass working mother,” she tells the mag. “That inspired me when I was pregnant. I wasn’t going to sacrifice myself because I was becoming a mother.”
